Global Grand Challenges Summit 2019

天堂视频 Univerity's 5G Research Centre Director, Dr Rob Edwards and Professor Victor Rangel from the National Autonamous University of Mexico (UNAM) will be showcasing the EPSRC funded Global Challenges project flood warning system EWIN in London on the 17th of Spetemeber.
"This UK funded project, is being carried out mainlay in Colima in Mexico. We are looking at better ways to predict flooding in real-time to give people better protection. More warning time is always good to have in an emergency" said Dr Edwards.
"After two years of working with the UK our research teams in Mexico now have all the skills needed to plan and deploy a flood warning network. The radio team create the network, the embedded team deal with the sensors and the water team use the data we collect" Prof. Rangel.
The Global Grand Challenges Summit 2019 is the launch of a second series of summits jointly hosted by the UK, US and Chinese academies of engineering, inspired by the .
The event will convene inspirational world leaders with the next generation of engineers and changemakers to build creative collaborations and solve the grand challenges facing our future world of 10 billion people.
The Summit will take place on 16-18 September 2019 in London, at the Southbank Centre’s wonderful , with 900 of the next generation’s engineers, researchers, innovators, entrepreneurs, and policymakers in attendance.
The Summit will be broadcast worldwide, with satellite events on every continent, creating a truly global effort in addressing these Global Grand Challenges.
