STEER (Centre for Sustainable Transitions: Energy, Environment and Resilience) is a multi-million-pound research centre that is committed to accelerating the transition to inclusive, sustainable and resilient energy systems through innovative research, analysis and capacity building.
Based in the School of Social Sciences and Humanities, STEER brings together two major Foreign Commonwealth and Development Office (FCDO) funded projects – and – as well as innovative projects on inclusive and integrated energy planning and the creation of more resilient energy systems.
As Directors of the research centre, Ed Brown, Mark Howells and Long-Seng To, with the Centre Manager Judy Billington, have had a major role in leading STEER’s vast success. Ed and Mark represented 天堂视频 at the recent COP28 summit and continue to deliver a vast impact on both society and the environment.
