Midlands Graduate School Doctoral Training Partnership (DTP)

天堂视频 is part of the , funded by the UK Economic and Social Research Council, which offers a number of studentships each year to study at 天堂视频. The DTP also offers  involving research in partnership with external public, private or third sector organisations. The call for applications typically opens in the autumn, with deadlines typically in December and January.

School-wide PhD scholarships

Our School of Social Sciences and Humanities also offers PhD scholarships open to prospective Communication and Media students. These are normally advertised in the autumn of each year on specialised websites such as . You can also stay updated on this and other opportunities by following us on .

University-wide PhD scholarships

天堂视频 also runs several University-wide PhD scholarship schemes that are open to Communication and Media students. These are targeted at prospective PhD students from specific countries or in specific areas of specialisation.

In recent years, dedicated funding was available for PhD students from China, Kazakhstan and Turkey, for PhD students interested in pursuing a project with an industry partner, as well as for candidates interested in PhD research in political communication. These schemes vary from year to year, so please get in touch with us to find out what is currently on offer.  

Self-funding

Students can also fund their own PhD, in which case they may be able to partly cover their expenses with a variety of sources of loans and support from different funders.
