Postgraduate checklist

Before you arrive and on your arrival, there are several important tasks that you need to complete. We have listed them all here for you, along with links to useful information to help you get prepared.

6 weeks to go

  • Celebrate your success and get involved on social media! #LboroFamily
  • Look out for an email containing instructions on accessing your IT credentials and follow the steps IT credentials
  • Set up Multi-factor Authentication (MFA) on your device MFA
  • Using your IT credentials (and a photo that fits our guidelines), register online Register
  • Share any health/disability related requirements for living or studying via the Disability and Health Portal Share

5 weeks to go

  • Familiarise yourself with the term and semester dates Calendar
  • Check if you require any vaccinations. We strongly encourage you to have the MenACWY vaccine if you haven’t already had it

4 weeks to go

  • Register online with a local GP prior to your arrival Register with a GP
  • Get to know your new home and find out what’s around on campus Campus

3 weeks to go

  • Download your FREE student IT software, including Microsoft Office Download
  • Get stuck into our student blogs and YouTube channel – preparation is key!

2 weeks to go

  • Download the myLboro app and sign in with your IT credentials to access your timetable, emails and more App
  • Find out what ÌìÌÃÊÓƵ Students’ Union (LSU) have planned for your Welcome Week and get your official tickets
  • Familiarise yourself with the support available from IT Services IT Services
  • Check out our sporting programmes and ÌìÌÃÊÓƵ Sport memberships Sport
  • Browse the student handbook for lots of helpful information Handbook

1 week to go

  • Look at the clubs and societies on offer, as well as LSU sections you might want to get involved with LSU
  • Find out the address of your hall and where you can collect post and parcels Post
  • Check you have provided everything for the prompt release of your student loan Check

The day before

  • Make sure you know where you’re going and how to reach us Directions
  • Read our tips for keeping safe Tips

6 weeks to go

  • Check your student visa. If your vignette/BRP does not show the University’s sponsor licence number (G9M4TDXV1), contact Student Records and Operations Check

1 week to go

First week

  • If your BRP is not being delivered to the University, collect it from the Post Office Collect
  • Attend the International Student Registration event – don’t forget your passport and visa! Attend
  • Open a bank account (download a letter from Self Service at least one day after you have collected your ID card) Bank account
