If you would like to check the progress of a current application, please contact the academic School you have applied to using one of the addresses in the sidebar. Please note it can take up to six weeks for a PhD application to be given full consideration.
How do I update my Contact Details?
You can view and update your contact details on your student record via the Student Self-Service system.
Your student record is a combination of the personal details you provided to the University when you registered at the start of your studies and information regarding your programme of study/modules. It needs to be accurate.
How do I update my Bank Details?
You can view and update your bank details on your student record via the Student Self-Service system.
Your student record is a combination of the personal details you provided to the University when you registered at the start of your studies and information regarding your programme of study/modules. It needs to be accurate.
How do I change my Name?
Prior to submitting a name change query, please see 'How we use your data > Student names' in the Student Handbook.
If you wish to change your name whilst at the University, you must download the name change form (it's on the page linked below). Please complete this prior to contacting the Doctoral College Office.

What do I need to do about Council Tax?

- You can generate a range of letters yourself, including a Council Tax letter from the Student Self-Service portal.

- If you have attempted to generate your own letter and have come across an issue, please contact the Doctoral College Office.
I need proof of my UK address in order to open a bank account...
You can generate a range of letters yourself, including a Bank Letter from the Student Self-Service portal. A Bank Letter is sufficient proof of your UK address and can therefore be used for multiple purposes.

I need a non-standard letter that can't be generated via the Self-Service portal...
If you require a non-standard letter which cannot be generated via the Student Self-Service Portal, please contact the Doctoral College Office, providing as much relevant information as possible including your full name, Student Registration Number and the information you require us to provide.
Questions about academic transcripts and awards...
Can I obtain a duplicate degree certificate?
Please note that upon Graduation, the University only issues one original certificate and academic transcript per student, free of charge.
