Following the intermittent campus-wide network issues experienced last month, IT Services has completed a series of essential maintenance activities which has fully restored stability and resilience to the IT network across our campuses.
The problems which affected connectivity to wired and wireless devices were a result of a significant increase in unwanted (non-malicious) types of network traffic passing through equipment in the core of the campus network causing it to crash.
Since the mitigations were put in place three weeks ago, we have extensively tested and monitored the performance of the network and there have been no further failures during this period.
IT Services apologise for the disruption to the network during October.
