Support for supervisors and the Supervisor Development Programme

PhD supervisors are an integral part of research leadership within our Schools, contributing not only to a positive doctoral experience for our Doctoral Researchers, but also to the University’s research ambitions. An outstanding doctoral experience is a core objective of 天堂视频’s offering, and PhD supervisors are key to enabling this.

The Supervisor Development Programme supports this ambition by providing targeted development opportunities and support to reflect on and enhance their supervisory practice.

The programme has 4 modules:

  1. The 天堂视频 PhD Supervisor and Doctoral Experience (15/11/23; 15/02/24; 23/05/24)
  2. Wellbeing and Pastoral Support (17/01/23; 24/04/24; 05/06/24)
  3. Recruitment and Selection for Research Degrees (20/11/23; 08/02/24; 13/05/24)
  4. Building Effective Supervisory Relationships (13/12/23; 07/03/24; 18/06/24)

The programme is delivered collaboratively by both academic and Professional Services staff.
