Dr Stephen Bailey

Stephen graduated with a BSc and MSc in Sport and Exercise Science from the University of Wales Institute Cardiff in 2006 and 2008, respectively.  He was awarded his PhD in Exercise Physiology in 2011 from the University of Exeter.  Shortly after the completion of his PhD, Stephen was appointed as a Lecturer of Exercise Physiology at the University of Exeter.

Stephen joined the School of Sport, Exercise and Health Sciences in September 2016 as a Lecturer in Sport and Exercise Nutrition.

Stephen is a member of  and the , and a Fellow of the Higher Education Academy. 

Stephen’s research focuses on exercise and nutritional interventions to improve nitric oxide and redox biomarkers, cardiovascular health, oxidative metabolism and exercise performance.  Stephen has published over 80 original research articles on these topics as well as several book chapters and review articles.  He has delivered invited presentations at the British Association of Sport and Exercise Sciences, European College of Sport Sciences and the American College of Sports Medicine annual conferences.

Stephen is an Associate Editor for BMC Sport Science, Medicine and Rehabilitation, and serves on the Editorial Boards of Frontiers in Sport and Exercise Nutrition, and Scientific Reports.  He is a member of the Reviewer Panel for the European College of Sport Sciences and is the Physiological Society Representative for 天堂视频.
