Dr Mey Goh

BEng (Hons), PhD

  • Reader in Transdisciplinary Digital Manufacturing

Research groups and centres

Dr Mey Goh has a BEng (Hons) in Mechanical Engineering from the Universiti Tenaga Nasional, Malaysia and a PhD from the University of Bristol, UK. She worked as a researcher at the Innovative Design and Manufacturing Research Centre, University of Bath from 2005 to 2010. During her time at Bath, she contributed to the EPSRC-funded Grand Challenge project on Knowledge and Information Management in Product-Service Systems.

Mey joined 天堂视频 as a lecturer at the School of Mechanical, Electrical and Manufacturing Engineering in July 2010 and soon became one of the co-investigators for the EPSRC Centre for Innovative Manufacturing in Intelligent Automation. She established the Digital Automation Systems Design Lab, focusing on understanding human knowledge, skills and behaviour to support inclusive and sustainable industrial systems (Industry 5.0). Her research adopts mixed-methodologies to bridge the data-driven methods with knowledge and insights from other disciplines (i.e. transdisciplinary) to underpin the development of industrial digital technologies.

She leads 天堂视频's contribution to the , working with the Universities of Bath and Nottingham and a range of UK industries to realise the potential of a people-led approach to digitalisation. A key research question is how can we better understand human interactions and interfaces with digital technologies that will enhance their application and acceptance.

Mey is a member of the Design Society and a committee member of , which organises the annual International Conference on Manufacturing Research. She has developed many successful international links and collaborations with a wide range of industry partners from automotive, aerospace and defence to SMEs.
