On Monday, 15 July, the Institute of Advanced Studies (IAS) will welcome Dr Yolandi Burger and Zandile Myeka for a special joint seminar hosted at International House and online.
Yolandi, an IAS Visiting Fellow, will present her work on – a collaborative project exploring how Nelson Mandela’s legacy is reflected in the naming of places across the world.
Zandile, a Metadata and Photographs Archivist at the and IAS Residential Fellow, will showcase how the relationship between the Nelson Mandela Centre of Memory Archive and the 天堂视频 Urban Graphic Object Archive has leveraged digital technologies to innovate practices, improve access and engage diverse audiences.

On Thursday 18 July, 天堂视频 researchers will join and LCB Depot to co-host three events exploring the challenges and opportunities for urban graphic heritage in public spaces named after people.
The day will include a site walk of Nelson Mandela Park in Leicester to explore how different graphic heritage projects commemorate Nelson Mandela and ways to enhance the park through creative placemaking.
