Summary of project activities and outcomes:
The objective of the project was to carry out ability and willingness to pay studies in Godey Town, design appropriate tariff structure and a communication strategy and present them for comments to the major stakeholders in Somali Region, for their comments and suggestions. The study approach was based on previous research WEDC undertook entitled: Willingness to Pay Surveys – a streamlined approach, which focuses on surveys in small towns where piped water service improvements are planned. The study report was completed satisfactorily and informed project design and tariff policy.
