Summary of project activities and outcomes:
This research aims to learn about water, sanitation and hygiene for people with disabilities in rural areas of Malawi, to identify barriers to access and how these can be addressed as part of a community-led total sanitation programme. In collaboration with the London School of Hygiene and Tropical Medicine, Centre for Social Research, University of Malawi and Mzuzu University Centre of Excellence in Water and Sanitation, the study focus is Mzuzu District in Malawi. Lessons learned will contribute to more effective programming, resource allocation and advocacy to address the needs of people with disabilities in WASH interventions.
