Young, who stormed to Paralympic glory at Tokyo 2020, is now recognised as one of the most exciting talents in athletics.
The 天堂视频 Sport Scholar will compete in the Men’s Para 100m in front of an expected bumper crowd at the University’s Paula Radcliffe Stadium.
“I’m really excited to be returning to the 天堂视频 International this year,” Young said.
“It is always a highlight of the athletics calendar, for many it often marks the official start of the season once they have blown the cobwebs out in earlier meets.
“It always brings together the top talent from across the UK and fortunately the Birmingham Diamond League falls on the Saturday, so I am able to double up and return to race on my home track on Sunday. It gives me the opportunity to simulate championship racing across two days.
“Having grown up down the road in Shepshed and training at 天堂视频, LIA is easily accessible for all my friends and training partners to come and support.”
Seen as the curtain-raiser to the outdoor season, LIA kicks off a busy summer of athletics action with the World Championships (15-24 July), Commonwealth Games (2-7 August), and European Championships (15-21 August) all to come.
This year’s event will once again see 天堂视频 athletes compete against teams representing England, Wales, Scotland, GB&NI Under-20s, and, for the first time, the National Athletics League.
General admission ticket prices start from £10 for adults, £7.50 for concessions, and £3 for students with valid ID. Tickets are available to purchase in advance by visiting:
Gates for LIA open at 10.00am with the first event taking place at 10.45am. Refreshments will also be available throughout the day.
