The School of Science at ÌìÌÃÊÓƵ undertakes world-leading research and teaching in Chemistry, Computer Science, Mathematics, Mathematics Education and Physics and boasts state-of-the-art facilities and an active research community.
We are renowned for the relevance of our research work which is driven by society’s need for solutions to real-life issues.
In addition to carrying out research in their respective disciplines, staff in the School of Science are engaged in multidisciplinary research in collaboration with other academic schools and departments across the campus - from Engineering and Sport Science to Arts and Humanities - creating an exciting and truly stimulating research environment. Computer Science
Senior Lecturer or Lecturer in Computer Science
The Department of  Computer Science is long-established with extremely high student satisfaction of which we are very proud. We have a strong reputation for student experience and caring for our students leading to regular appearances towards the top of the National Student Survey and other league tables.
In the latest Research Excellence Framework 100% of the Department's research impact was rated ‘world-leading’ or ‘internationally excellent’. In addition, we have a fast-growing research portfolio, making huge strides in the last REF assessment; we continue to build on this. The successful candidate will work alongside our established leading researchers in a collaborative environment with lab facilities to support research in computer science theory, networks and systems, robotics and vision.

Professor or Reader (Associate Professor) in Cyber Security
Following a major investment in cyber security at ÌìÌÃÊÓƵ we are looking for talented people to join a highly ambitious group under the leadership of Professor Tim Watson. If you have practitioner experience in cyber security, have a passion for doing good work that makes a real-world difference, and can contribute to both research and teaching then we're keen to hear from you.
Mathematics
Senior Lecturer or Lecturer in Mathematics
The Department of Mathematical Sciences is a Top-15 Department in the UK for Mathematics, with high levels of student satisfaction reported in the National Student Survey and 100% of research impact rated 'world-leading' or internationally excellent' in the most recent Research Assessment framework exercise.
The Department is looking to recruit in the following areas:
Applied Mathematics
Candidates in all areas of Applied Mathematics will be considered but preference may be given to candidates that can add strength to one or more of our existing research groups in Mathematical Modelling, Linear and non-linear waves, and Dynamical Systems.
Statistics
The successful candidate will join the Statistics research group, which has a a fast-growing research portfolio.  Current expertise is in Bayesian statistical modelling, computational statistics, data science, machine learning, statistical image analysis, predictive modelling, and uncertainty quantification in engineering.
