We’re recruiting candidates at Professor, Senior Lecturer and Lecturer level to join the Business School in the following areas:

Accounting and Finance

Senior Lecturer or Lecturer in Accounting

The Accounting and Finance group has a strong international reputation for its research in Corporate Governance and Accountability, Corporate Social Responsibility, Management Accounting, Corporate Finance and Asset Pricing.

Colleagues in the group publish in the leading Accounting, Management and Finance journals as well as engaging with practitioners around policy and impact.  The group teaches across all aspects of the Accounting and Finance discipline and is home to a number of popular undergraduate and postgraduate programmes.

We are interested in candidates with the ability to contribute to financial reporting and/or management accounting teaching modules. Ideally, candidates should possess research interests that complements existing strengths in the group, particularly around corporate governance and accountability; corporate social responsibility and accounting for sustainability.

Candidates for the Senior Lecturer roles are expected to possess some leadership experience.

Economics

Professor and Lecturer in Economics

The Economics group undertakes rigorous and highly relevant research as well as providing high-quality undergraduate and postgraduate teaching in economics. The Group’s research output is focused on academic publications in world-leading scholarly journals which generate significant impact on public policy in all areas of Economics.

Our teaching programmes are popular and very highly regarded, being consistently ranked amongst the best in the UK and having experienced a substantial growth in high-quality applications and admissions in recent years.

For the Professorial position, we are particularly interested in research and teaching expertise in Applied Econometrics.

For the Lecturer position, we welcome applications in all areas that are aligned with the group’s research interests.

We anticipate that interviews will take place on 28 November for first stage Professorial (second stage on 19 December). For Lecturer post this will take place, 12th December 2023. International Business, Strategy and Innovation

Senior Lecturer or Lecturer in International Business, Strategy and Innovation

The International Business, Strategy and Innovation (IBSI) group is committed to advancing world-class management scholarship and developing ideas that will help managers navigate the challenges of globalisation and the digital economy.

Key research specialisms within the IBSI group include Entrepreneurship, Strategy and Performance, Internationalisation Strategy, Corporate Governance, Social Innovations and Entrepreneurship, Open and Digital Innovations and Development, and Culture-strategy Nexus in Global Organisations. The IBSI Group publishes its research in high-quality academic journals, and appointees must be able to demonstrate that they are undertaking high-quality research. 

We welcome applications from those within any of IBSI's research specialisms. Applicants must have a strong record of effective teaching and be able and willing to deliver teaching in line with the evolving requirements of the IBSI group. 

Applicants for the Senior Lecturer role must also demonstrate some evidence of academic leadership.

Information Management

Lecturer in Information Management

The Information Management group  brings together academics to conduct research and contribute to practice across diverse issues in the development of information systems, the digital economy, and the implications for firms and society.

Members of the group successfully develop distinctive topics such as Digital Decarbonisation, InsurTech innovation, platform research, the utilization of advanced ontology for detection of behaviour through social media, digitalization and Criminal Justice, applications of Artificial Intelligence, public policy, and digitalization and Social Justice. The group has a diverse teaching portfolio across undergraduate and postgraduate courses, including MBA, and a very strong community of doctoral researchers.

We are looking for candidates at Lecturer level with an interest in contemporary topics related to Information Management. These interests might have a technical focus through programming (e.g. Python, R) or architectures, or alternatively they might be focused on empirical and critical questions of technology development, use, management and impacts. We are looking for candidates with strong research potential and a high capability for teaching.

Management Science and Operations

Professor, Senior Lecturer or Lecturer in Management Science and Operations

The Management Science and Operations group has a very strong international reputation for its theoretical and applied work in management science, operational research, operations management and logistics. The group comprises members with research and teaching expertise in optimisation, decision and efficiency analysis, business analytics, simulation, business statistics, forecasting, operations and supply chain management.

We welcome applications at Professor, Senior Lecturer and Lecturer level with research and teaching interests that enhance and complement the varied specialisms currently in the group. 

We anticipate that interviews will take place on 7 December for first stage Professorial (second stage on 19 December). For Senior Lecturer and Lecturer interviews will take place between 29 November – mid-December 2023. Where possible we will hold in-person interviews to ensure candidates have the opportunity to view the ÌìÌÃÊÓƵ campus and their potential working environment.

Marketing

Senior Lecturer or Lecturer in Marketing

The Marketing Academic Group includes a team of research-oriented individuals with expertise in a number of areas within marketing. The group publishes high-quality internationally recognised research and is actively involved in research supervision.
 
We are looking to make appointments at Senior Lecturer or Lecturer Level. We welcome applications from candidates who engage in high quality research, have a strong record of effective teaching, and who are willing to deliver teaching in line with the evolving needs of the marketing and retailing group. We are particularly interested in candidates that have experience in teaching subjects such as, digital marketing, branding, marketing research, international marketing and consumer behaviour.

Work and Organisation

Lecturer in Work and Organisation

The Work and Organisation academic group brings together academics from different disciplines to conduct research and contribute to practice across diverse issues in the management of people and organisations. Members of the group carry out distinctive work across many contemporary topics of importance to work, employment, organisations and society.

These include: organisational and work psychology, leadership, workplace equalities, career management, work-related health and well-being, the sociology of work, technology, and organisations, and issues in international labour and employment. The group also leads British Psychological Society (BPS)-accredited programmes in Work Psychology and a CIPD accredited MSc in Human Resource Management.

We are looking for candidates at Lecturer level from Organisational Behaviour and/or Human Resource Management.  We are looking for candidates with a strong research trajectory, ideally with at least one peer-reviewed publication, as well as the capacity to teach to a high standard, preferably in the area of Work Psychology, Organisational Behaviour and/or Human Resource Management.
