Dr Pooja Goddard
I grew up on the foothills of Mount Kenya. My academic career includes a First class (Hons) MChem in Chemistry from Coventry University including an industrial placement at GlaxoSmithKline and a PhD at the University of Warwick.
In 2005, I moved to the Department of Materials theory, Uppsala University, Sweden, looking at non-invasive diagnosis of malaria. After 3.5 years, I joined the University of Bath, working on modelling of energy materials with applications in Li Ion Batteries, Fuel Cells and Thin Film PV. I am holding a model of a bucky ball, a catalyst with wide-ranging applications in sustainable energy production and storage.
Sam is my teddy who joins me on outreach and EDI trips. I truly believe inclusivity is about recognising the importance of every individual in shaping the success of an institution. Recognition and acceptance can be incredibly powerful in empowering people to believe they can achieve the unimaginable.
