Dr Parisa Derakhshan

I鈥檝e always loved mathematics and problem-solving, since I was a young kid. For me, numbers were easier to work with than words. I was lucky to have inspiring math teachers and supportive parents who all encouraged me to study Mathematics.

I studied Pure Mathematics at the University of Tehran in Iran. During my Masters study, I did my thesis on Graph Colouring Extension where I became interested in studying problems in Theoretical Computer Science. I came to 天堂视频 to study for a PhD on Hamilton Cycles on Star Graphs and still work here, as a University Teacher. My research studies problems in Graph Theory, Interconnection Network Topologies, and Computer Graphics.

I am holding “An Introduction to the Theory of Numbers” which is a classic textbook in the field of Number Theory, by G. H. Hardy and E. M. Wright. This book was a gift from my supervisor when he retired from 天堂视频.
