Faith Imhanze
As an early-career environmental researcher, I'm passionate about the sustainable management of Earth鈥檚 delicate ecosystems, particularly terrestrial and freshwater environments. My current research aims to understand the occurrence, fate, and behaviour of pollutants in raw water reservoirs as well as their effects on ecological processes and response to environmental stressors.
My journey began with a childhood interest in the medical sciences and its promise of saving lives, but witnessing firsthand the profound impact of environmental mismanagement in my country spurred my shift towards agriculture and environmental sciences.
I was driven by the desire to address pressing issues like scarcity of food and clean drinking water, resource mismanagement, and the far-reaching consequences of environmental degradation with a conviction that my research could offer tangible solutions to help alleviate human suffering and foster sustainable development.
My MacBook isn't just a research tool; it's a repository for my curiosity, housing questions that guide my scientific inquiry and the answers I uncover. It connects me to the global research community, enabling me to share my findings and contribute to meaningful change.
