International Partnerships

For achieving significant impact and outstanding outcomes through international collaborations and networks.

Winner: Volunteer Zambia Staff (2022-2023)

The Volunteer Zambia 天堂视频 Staff team have worked tirelessly over the past 12 months to achieve significant impact within sport development in Zambia. Led by Cath Harvey, together with Amber and Kira (selected as the staff members to go out to Zambia in summer 2023), we have seen huge changes and progress in the country.

The reach of the project continues to go from strength to strength, with 3943 unique participants participating in sport in hub sites across Zambia, of which 67% are female, a key target group for Volunteer Zambia and Sport in Action.

Nominees

Mark Jarram and Ben Aherne

These two individuals have led and driven the partnership with Indian based ‘not for profit’ sports foundation, ELMS Sports. Ben and Mark have been the driving force for the planning, implementation and growth of this relationship.

Projects like this are no easy feat to just wheel out, overcoming inclusion and language barriers, understanding context and cultural differences whilst concurrently making our knowledge and expertise available for the benefit of sport, coaching and leadership improvement.

Ashleigh Filtness

I would like to nominate the work of Professor Ashleigh Filtness for the VC award for International partnerships in recognition of outstanding global engagement in her recent project of co-editing the upcoming book The Handbook for Fatigue Management in Transportation: Waking up to the Challenge.

The network and connections that Professor Filtness has created through the creation of this text are invaluable. I suspect many will now be future collaborators for the Transport Safety Research Centre (TSRC).
