Winner: Inclusive Engineering Excellence Hub

The project also aims to create more inclusive learning environments on campus, e.g., the formation of the Inclusive Excellence Engineering Hub (IEEH), which is a dedicated space in WPTH open to all engineering students.

The hub comprises study space and common room, with PCs, accessible workstation, Lego activity zone, area for mindful art (peer-led by student ambassadors) and relaxed seating. They took an innovative approach to tackle systemic barriers in the engineering community, by looking at diversified pathways for minoritized groups through the cycle of education and career development.

EDI Celebratory Events Team

Alan Walsh and Hiten Patel are members of the BAME network and they organise celebratory events for all members of our 天堂视频 and wider Community. Events include: Diwali, Christmas, Lunar New Year, Eid and African/Caribbean events.

The events are celebratory in nature and all year round, which hints to the hard work and dedication both show for these celebratory events. Celebrating in this way is a model of inclusivity and creates and internal feeling that whoever we are, we matter because we are all welcome to take part in a fun uplifting, culturally inspired event.

Mark Jarram and Nat Marshall

Part of many EDI initiatives, Mark and Nat did not want to just be talkers in this space, but actually do something to address a lack of female coaches and future female leaders. This programme in Partnership with UK Coaching is the first of its kind and the only University environment to embark on it.

Mark and Nat were the driving force for the planning, implementation, and delivery of such an inspiring, empowering, and impactful programme for these females.
