Service of Remembering 2024

ÌìÌÃÊÓƵ this event

A new annual service to remember those with memorial plaques in the University Garden of Remembrance.

We would like to invite you and guest(s) to a service of remembering, hosted by ÌìÌÃÊÓƵ Chaplaincy. This service is a new introduction to the university calendar and will be an opportunity to remember loved ones and colleagues who are remembered by memorial plaques in ÌìÌÃÊÓƵ’s Garden of Remembrance.

The service will be held on Saturday 2 November at 1.30pm in the Garden of Remembrance, followed by refreshments in the University Chaplaincy. During the service, the names of those being remembered will be read out by chaplains. (Previously, this reciting of the names has taken part
during the annual Remembrance Day commemoration on campus, but this year we are choosing to separate these two, very distinct types of remembering, to give families and friends with a connection
to someone via a plaque. A special occasion of their own.)

The service led by Lead University Chaplain, Revd Elizabeth York, containing reflections and prayers will be followed by a time of refreshments in the University Chaplaincy. Guests will also be able to view the Book of Remembrance in the Chapel and light a candle if they wish.

Direction, access and parking details will be sent upon booking.
