Dr Alex Wilson awarded C-ABS Research Fellowship and publishes industry report
was awarded C-ABS Research Fellow (2018) by the and publishes report on Strategic Groups of UK Business Schools.
Alex was awarded a second research fellowship by the Chartered Association of Business School to conduct an extended analysis of the business school sector in the UK. This research examines a total of 61 schools (almost half of the total number of business schools in the UK) across the two years 2016-2018. This results in a comparative analysis across 12 strategic groups to examine similarities and differences in the way that UK business schools are positioned, structured and strategically focused It highlights the diverse nature of UK business schools and also raises questions about how they might grow and develop in the future.
His recent second report on Strategic Groups of UK Business Schools was recently published by the Chartered Association of Business Schools (C-ABS), which gives an analysis of the strategic position of business and management education providers within the Higher Education sector.
The report’s findings were discussed with UK Deans at the C-ABS Annual Conference 2018 where the report was formally launched.

Dr Alex Wilson is Senior Lecturer in Strategy at the School of Business and Economics. He is part of the International Business, Strategy, and Innovation group and a member of Centre for Service Management. His research interests include the role and purposed of management education and the legitimacy of business schools.
