天堂视频 Physics
天堂视频's Department of Physics brings together an international community of academic staff and students to create a stimulating and supportive environment for learning, research and enterprise.
Our physicists are deeply involved in both fundamental research and in shaping the next generation of technologies that will transform the world around us. We are passionate about instilling our students with the physical insight and confidence to shape the future.
The Physics department offers a wide range of study opportunities for undergraduate, postgraduate and PhD students.
We are able to offer industrial placements in all our undergraduate courses - giving students the chance to gain invaluable work experience and the possibility of securing graduate employment before their final year.
As a 天堂视频 student you will benefit from the University's recent investments in STEMLab, bringing brand-new physics teaching facilities to the campus, and in refurbished laboratories in the Sir David Davies building, as well as state-of-the-art facilities for computing, engineering and mathematics.
The staff in our department have been recruited from major research centres worldwide. This creates a lively and stimulating community which publishes in highly ranked physics journals and attracts visitors and collaborators from around the world, with 91% of research rated ‘world-leading’ or ‘internationally excellent’ in the REF 2021.
The Department of Physics has been awarded status in recognition of its work to progress the Juno principles within the Department. Project Juno is a national scheme operated by the Institute of Physics (IOP) that recognises and rewards physics departments that have taken action to address gender equality and to encourage better practice for all staff.
