This grant is to fund a review of evidence on Early Years and Key Stage 1 mathematics teaching that will lead to a guidance report for practitioners, summarising the best available research evidence. The review will build on Simms & Gilmore’s (2019) Nuffield-funded Review of Interventions to Improve Primary School Maths Achievement; Hodgen, Foster & Marks’s (2018) EEF-funded Evidence for Review of Mathematics Teaching: Improving Mathematics in Key Stages Two and Three; and Hodgen & Foster’s (2019) Nuffield-funded Review of Teaching Strategies and Approaches that Address Low Attainment in Secondary Mathematics.
