Privacy Notices
A key requirement of Data Protection legislation is that organisations are transparent about how they use personal data; this includes an obligation to inform individuals about how their data is being used.
To support this obligation the University has developed a series of Privacy Notices for students (including prospective students, current students and alumni; staff (including applicants, current and leavers) and individuals who engage with us regarding research. Those Notices can be found at and describe the majority of processing that the University does in respect of these sets of individuals.
Occasionally you may have a requirement to develop a Privacy Notice for a specific activity which involves processing personal data for a cohort of individuals. The diagram explains the process and the template is provided for you to use to draft a policy.
