Alan Vaughan Thomas 鈥� Working to improve pedestrian safety
The automotive industry is vast, and the teams engaged in any innovation are usually extensive 鈥� it is difficult to know where they end. Alan, a 1970 Automotive Engineering and Design alumnus and member of the Alumni Advisory Board, worked on many innovative projects during his career, one of which was the Jaguar pop-up bonnet. Springboard PC-1 Keyboard 鈥� making typing easier for people with disabilities
Alumna Sarah Jayne Davies (MSc Information Studies 1999) has designed a new keyboard with sunken keys. Her innovative design solves a problem she has experienced as a person with ataxic cerebral palsy, which mainly affects her arm control.
